As an artist, Mayu believes that dance is an honest reflection of a person’s inner world—both past and present. With a deep interest in the psychological and emotional aspects of life, as well as human connection, she finds inspiration through introspection and lived experiences, both on and off the stage.

At the core of her creative process lies a sensitivity to contradiction, inner conflict, and the subtle questions that arise in everyday life. Her work is shaped by an objective yet deeply personal perspective on what it means to be human.

After relocating to New York in 2019, Mayu began to experience a new kind of joy—both as a performer and an audience member. In moments of shared movement, she witnessed how dance could evoke instinctive, uplifting energy that resonated through everyone present. These moments transcend language and cultural barriers, inviting connection, mutual respect, and emotional unity.

When Mayu feels the emotional vibration of others while dancing, she finds profound meaning. It is in these fleeting moments that she is reminded why she continues to create—to reach for something beyond words, and to share that essence with others.

Now based in the U.S., particularly in New York, where freedom and diversity are celebrated, Mayu has founded MNiverse—a creative platform. Through MNiverse, she aims to share the living beauty of contemporary dance and foster deeper human connection through movement, presence, and expression.
